Holds and Kills for Reserved Seating Events

This article outlines the steps to create, manage, and release holds and kills for reserved seating events

 

1. Create a Hold 0:00

  • Navigate to the ticketing dashboard.
  • Under the 'Tickets' section, select 'Holds'.
  • Click 'Add Hold' on the right side.
  • Name your hold and select a color.
  • Choose the seats you want to hold.

 

2. View Hold Details 0:30

  • Access the hold screen to see:

    • The name of the hold.

    • The inventory held.

    • A private link to share for purchasing those holds.

 

3. Check Availability on Public Event Page 0:44

  • Go to the public event page to verify that the held seats are not available for public purchase.

 

4. Manage Holds 0:58

  • To remove a hold, click on the seat or click the 'X' next to the hold.

  • To add more seats to the hold, select the seats and click 'Save'.

  • To comp tickets from the hold, follow the add attendees flow as usual.

  • To release the hold, click the option to release inventory back to the public.

 

5. Create a Kill 1:38

  • Navigate to the option to add kills.

  • Create a kill name and select the seats to remove from public inventory.

  • Click 'Save'.

 

6. View Killed Seats 1:54

  • Check the name of the kill and the seats that are killed.

  • Refresh the public event page to confirm that the killed seats are no longer available.

 

7. Understand the Difference Between Holds and Kills 2:07

  • Holds can be released back to the public or sold/comped later.

  • Kills should remain permanently removed from public inventory.
