Setting Up Verified Resale (Tixel Integration)

Opendate's Tixel integration brings verified, face-value-capped fan-to-fan resale into your ticketing workflow. When fans need to buy or sell, they land on a verified resale exchange, and you keep a share of the resale revenue.

What is the Tixel integration?

Tixel is a fan-to-fan ticket exchange that caps resale based on face value and verifies every seller's identity. When you enable the Tixel integration in Opendate, fans can be directed to a Tixel resale page for the event.

Before you start

You'll need a Tixel account (work with your CSM if you don't have one yet) and admin access to your Opendate Ticketing Settings.

How to enable Verified Resale

  1. Go to Ticketing Settings in Opendate.
  2. Find the Tixel Integration section.
  3. Toggle on Enable Verified Resale.
  4. Connect your Tixel account. You'll be redirected to authorize.
  5. Recommended: in Tixel, enable Auto-import all future events so every Opendate event is available for resale automatically.

How the buyer experience works

Once Tixel is enabled and an event is set up on both Opendate and Tixel:

  • A fan visiting a sold-out event page sees a "Find tickets on Tixel" option.
  • Fans with a ticket they can't use see a "Sell on Tixel" option through their Opendate ticket page.
  • The links use a magic link with your event ID, dropping the fan into the right Tixel page.
  • Fans complete the transaction on Tixel. Verified seller. Capped at +10% of face.

Per-event control

By default, Tixel applies to all events. To exclude specific events, open the event in Opendate, go to Settings, Distribution, and toggle off Verified Resale.

Beta limitations (current)

  • Sold-out redirect is a manual setup per event during the beta. Auto-activation rolls out in a future release.
  • Only USD pricing supported at launch.
