How to share a single event with a guest (passwordless link)
This guide shows you how to give someone access to just one event — without adding them as a full user on your account. The guest signs in through a passwordless link and sees a limited view of the event.
Steps
1. Open the event
Go to the event you want to share.
2. Copy the share link
Click the Share this page option and copy the link.
3. Send the link to your guest
Send the copied link to whoever you want to bring in as a guest (email, text, etc.).
4. Guest signs in (passwordless)
When your guest opens the link, they're taken to a passwordless sign-up page. They enter their email address and receive a login — no password needed. Each email address can only be registered once.
What the guest can see
Once logged in, the guest has a limited, single-event view:
- Visible: ticket counts and marketing assets for that event
- Not visible: the P&L, offers, and settlement — financial data is restricted
5. Verify it worked
Have your guest confirm they can open the event page and see ticket counts. If they see the full account dashboard instead, they're logged into a full user account — log out and use the share link again.
Common issues
- "Email already used" at sign-up: That email is already registered. Log out of the Opendate account before clicking the Guest link or use a different email address, or an alias (
name+guest@domain.com). - Guest needs financial data: The passwordless guest view doesn't include P&L, offers, or settlement. Add them as a full user instead if they need that access.
