Getting Started with Opendate Memberships

Opendate Memberships lets you sell, manage, and enforce membership programs directly through the Opendate platform.

Members get automatic benefits at checkout — discounts, presale access, and access to member-only events — without promo codes or manual tracking.

Setting up your first membership

  1. Navigate to Settings > Memberships in your Opendate dashboard.
  2. Click “Create Membership.” Enter a name, description, price, and duration for your membership tier.
  3. Configure benefits. Choose from: percentage discount on tickets, presale access, member-only events or ticket types, and more.
  4. Set visibility. Choose whether the membership is visible on your widget or hidden (for private/invite-only tiers).
  5. Embed the widget. Use the standalone membership widget or add memberships to your existing ticketing widget. Copy the embed code from the membership settings page.

How member benefits work

When a member purchases a ticket, the system verifies their membership and applies benefits automatically at checkout. Members log in through the ticket widget using their account credentials. Benefits include:

  • Automatic discounts — percentage off ticket prices, applied at checkout without codes
  • Presale access — members can purchase tickets before the general on-sale
  • Member-only events and ticket types — create events or ticket types visible only to members
  • Non-transferable — benefits are tied to the member’s verified account; they can’t be shared

CRM and marketing integration

Memberships integrate with Opendate’s CRM and campaign tools. When a fan signs up for a membership, their profile is updated with membership data and they’re automatically added to relevant segments. You can build custom segments based on membership tier and set campaign triggers that fire when a new membership is created.

Managing memberships

From the Create Tickets > Memberships page, you can view all active memberships, track purchases and expirations, and manually override membership status. Stripe subscription invoices are captured automatically via webhooks and reflected in your balance transactions.

Fan-facing membership management

Members can manage their own membership through a self-service portal — view their benefits, update payment information, and access their digital membership credential.

Tax collection

Opendate supports tax collection on membership purchases. Configure tax settings in your membership tier settings.
