Create an Event Directly in Webflow (Private Event example)
Follow these steps to bypass Opendate when adding dates to your website calendar.
List of fields that need to be filled out:
- Name
- Ticketing provider ('External')
- Event date
- Event door time
- Event show time
- Event end time (optional)
- Purchase link
- Venue name
- Small image
- Public (switched on)
- Calendar classification ('announced')
1. Access the CMS 0:13

Open the Webflow editor.

Click on the CMS button.

Navigate to the Shows collection.
2. Create a New Show 0:13

Click on 'New Show' to start creating the event.
3. Fill in Event Details 0:32

Name: Enter the name of the event.

Slug: This will auto-populate; you can ignore it.
4. Set Ticketing Provider 0:42

Under 'Ticketing Provider', select 'External'.
5. Add Date Fields 0:55

Set the event time.
6. Add Purchase Link 1:03

Copy and paste the purchase link where users will be redirected when they click 'Learn More' or 'Get Tickets'.
7. Upload Event Image 1:20

Use the small image for the event, unless otherwise specified.
8. Enter Venue Name 1:36

Fill in the venue name for the event.
9. Set Event to Public 1:50

Ensure the event is set to public.
10. Mark Event as Announced 2:00

Check the option to mark the event as announced to ensure it appears on the homepage.
11. Create Draft and Publish 2:11

Click 'Create Draft'.

After reviewing, click 'Publish' to make the event live.
